Kevin Gumbs

Kevin Gumbs – (27) Born and raised on the “One Happy Island” of Aruba.

Since he was a child, Kevin has been very active in the arts, mainly with dance performances. Kevin always had a leading role in school plays, or was responsible to create the choreography for school productions and shows. At the age of 14 he started his own dance group called “AMORRI”. He took this project very serious and was the coordinator and choreographer of the group. He was very determined and focused on his assignments. He gathered 20 youngsters to be part of the group, and trained them once a week at his house in Sanicolas. As the years flew by Kevin became one of the most rapidly growing names on the Island of Aruba. His creativity and unique take on choreography has earned him a spot as an international dancer and choreographer.

Currently, Kevin is a Dance Teacher at several dance schools in the Netherlands. He has choreographed 45 pieces and presented 5 grand shows in Cas di Cultura in Aruba. Kevin attended the Utrechtse Dance Academy in the Netherlands and graduated in 2013 as an Advanced Professional Dancer. In the same year Kevin got accepted at the Amsterdam University of the Arts Department for their Dance Teacher program. He is finalized his Bachelor’s Degree also as Professional Dancer, Teacher and Choreographer.

Kevin’s credits include choreographing for Arnhem Open Performance, TEDx Amsterdam, Kunstbende, Utrechtse Dance Academy, Stiching Pra, “Stop the Silence” by Melanie Ten Strengste Theatre Production, “Catch 22” by Layzmina Emerencia, “Skin” in Collaboration with Natusa Croes, “Riba e Mesun Awa” by Alydia Wever, Shortfilm “Colors”, HKU Theatre Production, Amsterdam Fashion Week, HIS&HERS, Sanne & Ine Agency, and Euro Pride.
